In a bizarre partnership that challenges traditional expectations, the game developer has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Uncovered

According to the official statement, "A strange meeting leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome transformations resonate through the darkness." The narrative introduces a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine cult.

The mission centers on "bizarre tests and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Changes

The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Bonus Material

Players who finish the quest will receive an special katana together with several artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special weapons
• Survey Corps steed

Newest Free Story Addition

This update also introduces the game's third free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This humorous mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly featured a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
