The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

The first season presents a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator stated earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
